ITEM 3_Lê Hồng Ngọc

Identifying bias

Item 1:

-         -  Bias: Prejudice
-          - Analysis:  In the Executive washroom, there is even no toilet for women. The Executive world is often thought to be for man only. Women have no room in this world. They can only be successful if they give away their femininity.

Item 2:

-          - Bias: Discrimination
-         -  Analysis:  Ugly person is not treated fairly. They are not allowed to come in.

Item 3:

- Bias: Racial prejudice
- Analysis: An Arab territorist is trying to be a suicide boomer in a Volkwagens. The bias is that Arabians are often jugded as territorists.

  1. I think in your item 1, there's discrimination, not prejudice :)

  2. The item 3 is scapeoating, not prejudice since it blames Arabians for terrorism.

  3. I think ur item 1 is discrimination because in the Executive world, the toilet is thought to be for man only, not women. There isn't any room which is built for women ---> unfair treatment between man and women---> discrimination

  4. I don't agree with Phuong's opinion. In fact, the problem here is not the toilet because the it is obviously available for everyone . I agree with Ngoc that the bias is prejudice, and the idea here is many people think that women have to sacrifice much in order to succeed in executive world.
