Identifying bias
Item 1: The world according to Americans
- Type of bias: Stereotype.
- This picture (designed by Yanko Tsvetkov) shows the stereotype of many Americans to the rest of the world. Actually, this stereotype somehow could be accepted in the past, but now everything has changed a lot, and that world is no longer exists (for example, the Soviet Union has collapsed for 20 years, so it doesn't exist now)
Item 2
- Type of bias: Prejudice
- This is the negative judgement of many American people about Muslims, black people and Tea Partiers. Many people see Muslims as terrorists, black people as thugs, and tea partiers as members of an extreme organization. In fact, almost of these people are normal, and there is nothing to worry about them.
Item 3
- type of bias: Sex discrimination
- In this picture, there is a man and a woman who is sitting on opposite sides of the see-saw. The man is sitting safe on the ground while the woman is in dangerous because beneath her is a deep abyss. Next to the man is a dangerous road sign with the equal sign on it. The idea here is that, although there is more equal between man and woman than in the past, but the sex discrimination still obviously exists.

Hi there, I do not agree with you on the first item. I suppose that it is more than stereotype. In the map, it's obviously that Americans call themselves as the only civilised world in the world and other antions not. Mongolians is thought to be savage, half of Africa is even considered as "fucking dessert, dude", another part of Africa is blamed for AIDS,etc. These Americans' opinion is not positive at all. Therefore, I think item 1 is not just stereotype, it should be prejudice here.
