Item 1
Different- Vincen Tabatha
How are we so “different”?
If “different” is just a thing.
If we all have certain features,
What does “different” bring?
People filled with hatred,
Can’t possibly see,
That there’s not really “differences”
Between you and me.
Looks can’t show “difference”,
If they’re just there to be seen.
If you don’t look like someone else,
Why are they so mean?
If being “different” is what is wrong,
I’d rather not be right.
And I’d want to finish living,
Doing the “different” fight.
Rhetorical devices:
- Rhyme: thing- bring, see- me, seen- mean, right-fight.
- Rhetorical question: If you don’t look like someone else, why are they so mean?
- Metaphor: “different” (dissimilar/ different in ideas, opinions, languages, cultures, etc.)
Message: Different should be looked as a positive thing, not
a negative one. Live the way you want, not the way others want you to.
Item 2
Life is an echo
A son
and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts
himself and screams: “Ah!” To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating,
somewhere in the mountain: “Ah!” Curious, he yells: “Who are you?” He receives
the answer: “Who are you?” And then he screams to the mountain: “I admire you!”
The voice answers: “I admire you!”
Angered
at the response, he screams: “Coward!” He receives the answer: “Coward!” He
looks to his father and asks: “What’s going on?”
The
father smiles and says: “My son, pay attention.” Again the man screams: “You
are a champion!” The voice answers: “You are a champion!”
The father shouts, “You are
wonderful!” and the voice answers, “You are wonderful!” The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains, “People call this ‘ECHO’
but truly it is ‘LIFE!’ Life always gives you back what you give out! Life is a
mirror of your actions. If you want more love, give more love!
Rhetorical devices:
Metaphor: Echo- a
reflection of our actions.
Message: Life will give
you back everything you have given to it!

ReplyDeleteItem 1:
ReplyDeleterepetition: different, if
I think the message here is: remove hatred and prejudice about difference because difference appears nomal, natural and has its meaning. Believe and be confident in yourself.
Just what I think about item 3:
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing that the world has becoming more modern, more superb, but don't forget to keep the natural beauty.
Item 2:
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion,
Metaphor: screams, yells - what you give
echo - what you receive when you give
Item 3:
I disagree with you. I think "us" in this picture is plants, forests, so the message is that the world are bad without forests.
About rhetorical devices:
Metaphor: the black sky - polluted environment
the blue sky - fresh environment
